The Community Action Council (CAC) serves as Washington County’s federally mandated Anti-poverty Agency and is the designated Community Action Agency for Maryland. Our primary objective at CAC is to empower individuals and families to achieve self-sufficiency.
CAC employs a comprehensive range of resources that go beyond addressing immediate needs. We are committed to equipping individuals and families with the knowledge, education, and confidence required to attain financial independence and become valuable contributors to our community.
Rather than concentrating solely on one aspect, such as food or energy assistance, CAC offers a diverse array of services along the entire spectrum of support. These services encompass crisis intervention and extend to realizing the aspiration of homeownership.
